Gilletts Spar Charity

Wear it Pink Day

We are pleased to announce that with the combined effort of all the staff at around 12 of our stores we managed to raise

£1760.00

Congratulation to all those involved in raising the money, I certainly know the stores that got involved on the day had a great time, and there were certainly some sites to be seen around the stores.

Please see some pics below.

Spar Charity

Gillett's Callington is pleased to be supporting

the following charities for 2011 - 2012

  • Chief Executive Eddie Farwell and his late wife Jill who had two life-limited children set up the charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), in 1991 and opened Little Bridge House in Barnstaple in September 1995.
  • CHSW is the only organisation in the South West providing hospice care to life-limited children and their families, in a hospice environment, from across the South West; from South Gloucester, Bristol, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
  • Little Bridge House, Charlton Farm and Little Harbour offer a real home from home environment, including a main living area that forms the heart and soul of each house, cosy lounges, a messy play room for carefree creativity, a multi sensory room with lights, sounds and textures to soothe and calm, a soft play area for safe, trouble-free fun and a jacuzzi for relieving stiff joints and muscle spasms. Not forgetting the beautiful gardens that surround the houses including the award winning Narnia sensory garden (based on the magical story The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis) at Little Bridge House and the Sunken Retreat (based on JRR Tolkien’s book The Hobbit) at Charlton Farm.
  • In September 2011 CHSW announced the Precious Lives Appeal target of £5 million to build a third hospice in Cornwall, Little Harbour, had been reached. We now continue to raise funds towards running costs.
  • Little Harbour our ‘hospice by the sea’ boasts spectacular views and offers a safe haven for families in Cornwall and Plymouth.

The company in the last three years has been very proud to support the National Spar Charity NSPCC, and raised over £50,000 pounds in that time.
