As a business Gilletts Callington Ltd sponsor a number of Football teams and the like around our areas, clearly we do get inundated with requests for sponsorship and regretfully we cannot commit to everything , but one team we have supported with the help of Weetabix are Callington LFC  and they have sent us in a report of last season….

Callington LFC has had another fantastic season this year.

After securing promotion into division one of the Cornwall Women’s Football League last season, the girls have done it again.

They finished an impressive 2nd, and will now be competing in the South West League Western Division in the 2011/2012 season.

The side also produced some impressive cup runs – closely losing to Truro in the final of the Shoe Boy division one cup

However they did beat St Agnes 4-0 to secure the winning trophy (pictured) in the St Austell Trophies league cup.

Manager Adam McPherson said: “I’m extremely proud of the girls this season. Their attitude, work rate, and dedication has been superb.”

The girls are now enjoying a well earned break before starting pre-season training next month.
