Gilletts Manager Wins Car at Show

Thursday the 30th of October was a lucky day for one Gilletts Callington Ltd Manager that was attending the Appleby Westward trade show at West Point in Exeter, Devon, leaving the show with much more than she arrived with.

The show put on by Appleby Westward attracts 100's of SPAR retailers from the South West to see the latest innovations and deals available to the SPAR membership.

In a bid to highten the publicity of the event, the organisers raffle a brand new car every year, open to those spar members that attend the show and stay until the finish of the show. Gilletts Callington Ltd managers have attended the show for the last 6 or 7 years in the hope of winning the car but with no luck the closest they have got was last year when they won an Instore advertising display monitor.

Alan said " we really thought we had missed it again this year when they called out the owner of the SPAR Store in Tiverton first, however to win it you have to be in the room so after a couple of minutes they re drew and to mine and everyone else connected with Gilletts they called out Stacey Triggs from SPAR Wadebridge."

Alan continued " it is a great result for us to see Stacey win the car, we have been trying for years with no luck, but it could not have happened to a nicer lady. Stacey has worked for the company for many years, starting as an assistant at our Bethal store, then progressing through our trainee managers programme, then on to assistant manager before finally ending up as store manager at our Wadebridge store, where she is doing a great job. We are so pleased for her, and everyone at head office really hope's she enjoys her new sporty Ford KA for many years to come. Roll on 2010 maybe we can win again."
