North Tawton Support Devon Air Ambulance

Gilletts Callington's North Tawton store, have been charging their customers for bags since July 08 and donating the money to the Devon Air Ambulance.

"The vast majority of our customers thought this was a great idea" said Andrew the store manager, and continued to say "the Air Ambulance in Devon is entirely supported from donations and charity events so customers felt it was a very popular (and local) cause".

As a result they have raised £4200 since july 08 and were kindly invited to visit the site of the Exeter based helicopter at Middlemoor police station, where it shares facilities with the police helicopter.

Eight members of the staff team ,including Andrew took up this invite on Wednesday 11th November, as they arrived at the station they actually got to see the helicoptor in action as it was just returning from an emergency call out.

The paramedics kindly showed the whole team the helicopter and it's facilities and talked through its capabilities, the visit which lasted about an hour and a half was a real treat and everyone thourghly enjoyed the day.
